Body Skincare - Body Cleansing Soap Bar

Body Skin Care: Cleansing

Many skin problems such dryness, itching and flaking may be the result of your soap bar. If your skin always feels dry, naturally, you would moisturize it. But, if your soap bar contains harsh additives that dry and irritate your skin, moisturizing doesn’t solve the real problem. Instead, consider changing to a more gentle soap because a good soap bar should leave your skin feeling clean, fresh, hydrated, and smooth.

Soap Bar – Which Soap Bar To Avoid

Animal Fat Soap

Most supermarket soaps are made from animal fat. These types of soaps are the most inexpensive. Avoid using soaps that are made from animal fat because they tend to clog pores.

Deodorant Soap

Deodorant soap contains ingredients to kill or inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. These soaps contain harsh additives that may dry and irritate your skin.

Antibacterial Soaps – Liquid Soap

Antibacterial soap contains ingredients for controlling germs. Whenever you wash with an antibacterial soap, the antibacterial ingredient is deposited onto your skin to help and keep the number of germs on your skin at a reduced level for an extended period of time. Use them if you must, otherwise avoid them.

Shower Gels & Body Washes

Shower gels & body washes do not moisturize your skin as well as shea butter, or vegetable based soap. They feel silky on your skin because they contain silicon – a common lubricant in many beauty products. The silicon doesn’t penetrate, instead, it stays on top of your skin to give your skin a smooth feel.

Vegetable Based Soap

Vegetable based soaps are more expensive than soaps that are made from animal fat. But vegetable based soaps are a more gentle way to clean your skin. These soaps contain extra oil, lather nicely, and very nice smelling. Almost any vegetable oil can be use to make vegetable based soap. Some of the common oils are almond, palm, shea butter, avocado, and jojoba. If you don’t like the fragrances of vegetable based soap, consider soap that are made from coconut oil / coconut butter – these soaps are almost odorless.
