Hair Removal - Shaving Tips
Shaving is the most inexpensive, easiest, and convenient way to remove unwanted hair on your legs, under the arms, and around the bikini line. Unfortunately, shaving also has its drawbacks including coarse regrowth (in two or three days), irritation and cuts.
There is no doubt, some of us do find shaving to be a tedious chore. Shaving does take a lot of time, and somewhere along, we pick up some bad habits such as using a dull shaving razor, rushing ourselves, or using a soap bar instead of shaving cream.
Shaving Tips - The Best Way to Shave Unwanted Hair
Here are some shaving tips that will help you to minimize irritation and getting a close, smooth shave. First, wet the area where you want to remove unwanted hair. Wait a few minutes for the moisture to soak in and softens the hair. Then take a small amount of shaving cream , rub it into a thick lather a spread it over the area where you want to shave. Instead of using shaving cream, you can use liquid body cleanser or shampoo. But don't use soap because soap will dry out your skin.
Leg Shaving: Since your leg hair grows in one direction (down), start at the base of your ankle and gently shave upward (against the direction of the hair growth). Rinse your blade between every stroke and make sure to keep your razor wet while shaving.
Shaving Underarm Hair: Raised your arms so the skin is taut and giving you better access to the hair. Since underarm hair grows in every direction, to get a smooht shave, shave in every direction as well (shave up, down, and side to side)
Shaving Bikini Area: When you shave your bikini line, pull the skin taut to get a smooth surface. Shave against the direction of hair growth.
After shaving, if you feel that you need to go over the shaved area the second time, make sure to apply more shaving cream. When you finished, rinse, pat dry, and apply moiturizer to the shaved area.
Shaving Tips to Avoid Irritation
- To avoid irritation, always use a sharp razor. It's difficult to get a smooth shave with a blunt blade and blunt blade will more likely to nick you.
- Don't shave over rash or blemish skin. You will be slicing off the top layer of your skin and this may sting.
- Shaving is something you can't rush. Be gentle and take your time. The slower you shave, the less likely you're going to nick yourself and the better the shave will be.
- Allow your skin to heal. Avoid going to the beach right after you shave. Those salt water will find the nick on your skin and it will sting.
- Don't shave sunburned skin.
