Eye Cream &
Eye Gel
The eyes are surrounded by
the shallowest tissue on the face. The skin underneath
our eyes is very delicate. It doesn’t have
much support structure and it can be damaged and
wrinkled easily. Yet this delicate skin area are
subjected to blinking, squinting, and rubbing
on a regular basis.
The skin surrounding the eyes
need to be moisturize with eye cream. Unlike regular
moiturizer, eye cream are tested by ophthalmologists
to ensure its safety to be use near your eyes.
Also, eye cream tends to be more emollient than
regular moisturizers.
Eye Cream Formulation and Benefits
Depending on what you want
your eye cream to do, there are alot of eye cream
to choose from. There are eye creams that are
specifically designed to minimize dark circles,
soften fine lines, or reduce puffiness. But you
can also find eye creams that are formulated
to attack those problems
at once.
The under eye area is a good
place to apply high quality oil to minimize touching
(oil spread smoothly and absorb easily by your
skin). Your eye cream doesn’t have to be
thicker than your face moisturizer, but a richer
eye cream do offer better moisturizing benefit
than eye gel. The texture of your eye cream is
a matter of personal taste.
How to apply eye cream
- Place a bit of eye
cream on your forth finger (the weakest)
- Starting at the outer corner working inward,
very gently pat the cream back and forth under
the eye
- Avoid putting eye cream
on your upper lids before going to sleep or
you will wake up with puffy eye lids
Eye Cream Tip
Eye cream can be very
expensive. Before you decide on a specific brand
visit the cosmetic counters and ask for
eye cream samples. This way you can have a feel
for which eye cream texture you prefer and know
which eye cream better satisfy your skin care
needs.
