Face Powder Make Up - Pressed Powder

Make Up Tip - Loose & Pressed Powder Make Up

Make up powder is an optional finishing touch. Face powder helps to set your make up and give your make up an even finish and more polished look.

People with different skin type benefit differently from make up powder. If you have oily skin or oily T-zone area you can make great use a light dusting powder because light dusting powder can help absorb oil and eliminate shines.

Types of Powder Makeup – Face Powder Make Up

There are two types of powder make up: loose powder and pressed powder.

Loose Powder Make up – Translucent Powder Make Up

Loose translucent make up powder has the lightest texture but it is also the most messy to work with. It gives you a sheer finish look.

Pressed Powder – Pressed Powder Make Up

Pressed powder make up helps to set your make up and eliminate shines. It’s a great substitution for foundation. If you need midday touch up, consider carry a pressed powder compact with you.

Pressed Powder Make Up Tip

Because pressed powder can be use as a substitution for foundation, you can use it throughout the day to touch up your make up.

For quick touch up, dab a small amount of pressed powder onto the make up sponge and apply it to shiny areas such as the T-zone areas or places where your makeup has become thin.

Normally, the sponge that comes with your pressed powder won't last as long as the powder. Once your applicator look caked, shinny, or when you glide the sponge on your face  and powder are hardly comming off then its time to either wash or change to a new sponge.

Removing Shinny, Hardened Film On Your Pressed Powder

If you don't washed or change your make up sponge regularly, over time, the oil on your skin might create a buildup on your pressed powder. If you notice a shinny, hardened film on top of your pressed powder, lightly scape the surface off and your powder will be good as new.

How to Apply Loose Powder Make Up

  1. Dip your powder brush into your powder. Lightly tap your brush over the container to remove excess.

  2. Lightly and evenly dust your face in upward strokes.

  3. Shake or wipe off the remaining powder from your brush.

  4. Lightly brush off excess powder from your face.

Face Powder Make Up Tip

When applying the finishing touch, you don’t need to apply too much. Too much powder can give your make up a cakey look.  It may also make your skin look dry and tight.
