MakeUp Brush - How To Clean Make Up Brush

Makeup brushes should be thoroughly washed and air dried on a regular basis. Bacteria do build up in make up brushes, sponge and puffs after prolonged use. Dirty make up brushes can also irritate your skin as well as causing acne so cleaning your make up tools is necessary.

How To Clean Makeup Brushes

Here are several ways you can clean your make up brush. Which ever method you prefer is entirely up to you.

Make Up Brush Cleaner

You can easily purchase make cleaner from a department store or a beauty supply store. Some make up cleaner are simple to use – spray on to disinfect, wipe clean with a towel, and allow to air dry.

Antibacterial Soap

In a small jar, prepare a mix of antibacterial soap and hot water. Soak your brushes for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and lay them on a towel for air dry. Great method if you have a lot of make up brushes to clean.

Shampoo and Facial Cleanser

Wet the make up brush bristles with warm water. Apply a small amount of shampoo or facial cleanser to the bristles and gently work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly with warm water (until the water run clear). Lay them on a towel to allow for air dry.

Make Up Sponge Tip

Once your sponge look caked or shinny that means it's time to wash or replace them. They're very inexpensive so I just replace them.
