Also, your need for iron is the greatest during the period of growth or blood loss. About 62% of women over the age of 20 are not meeting the Reference Nutrient Intakes (RNI) for iron. If you're of child-bearing age, your requirement for iron is ever more important because of the losses from menstruation.

Folic Acid - Benefit of Folic Acid Supplement

Folic acid is very important during rapid fetal growth and development. Women of child bearing age should intake 400 micrograms (400 mcg) of folic acid daily. Adequate intake of folic acid before and during pregnancy may reduce your risk of having a baby with a birth defect of the brain or spine.
